Meet the Team at North Horizon Heli Adventures

North Horizon Heli Adventures is a wholly indigenous owned and operated helicopter tourism business.  We provide the finest helicopter tours in the Northern Territory. We want to take you to exciting new places and give you unforgettable experiences in nature and culture.

With our special helicopter tours in the Top End, we provide an opportunity for spiritual awakening where we help you escape from the chaos of everyday life and discover the untouched beauty of the Australian bush.

Doug McBean - Founder

Doug McBean was born in Katherine and raised on his family’s iconic cattle stations, Innesvale and Bradshaw.  He is a humble man with deep connections to country. He has flown helicopters across Australia’s Top End for over 34 years, mustering cattle by air and flying all sorts of aerial operations. North Horizon Heli Adventures brings to life his dream of sharing the Top End’s extraordinary landscapes and Indigenous culture and creating life-changing adventures for all.

Gerald Grogan - Chief Pilot

Gerald has over 15 years of aviation experience and a deep passion for fishing. He is also a handy cake decorator, and his locally famous beehive cake took first prize at the Katherine Show.

Martin Hanning - Pilot

Martin has two years of helicopter flying experience. Originally from Germany, he is passionate about Australia, the cattle industry and has a big, friendly Golden Retriever called Gus.

Matt Gane - Head of Aircraft Maintenance/Pilot

Matt, as well as being a fantastic pilot with over fifteen years aviation experience, is passionate about the cattle industry, makes an amazing beef sausage, and is a qualified butcher.

Dan White - Pilot

Dan has over four years experience in aviation, much of that working in tourism. He is used to operating in remote areas and operating a range of helicopters, including the R22, R44, and B206.  He also loves exploring Nitmiluk Gorge by foot in his time off.

Sarah Grogan - Tourism Coordinator
